Making homemade dog shampoo isn't rocket science. Making your own shampoo with ingredients you probably already have in your pantry will save you money and travel time.
There are many recipes, but the following one requires very few ingredients, in addition to leaving your furry friend's coat and skin soft and pleasant-looking.
A simple, calming option
You don't have any store-bought shampoo left for your dog? it's too cold to go outside to buy some and your pet really needs a good bath? This formula contains only the basic ingredients you likely already have on hand and will leave your pet's coat soft and shiny. This homemade shampoo will suit your—and your pet's—needs and can be prepared in just a few minutes. Simply mix these four ingredients in a blender:
About 1â cup oatmeal
About ½ cup baking soda
About â cup water
About 1 tablespoon liquid honey
After having used it more than once, you can even adjust future quantities according to the size of your pet to avoid waste!
Of course, you can find a host of other recipe options on the Internet. However, be careful not to use products that are not recommended by animal health experts and to avoid harming your pet's skin or coat. If in doubt, don't hesitate to contact your veterinarian.
