International Assistance Dog Week

International Assistance Dog Week

August 4, 2019

Until August 10, 2019, we are celebrating International Assistance Dog Week, highlighting the dedicated work of dogs who transform the lives of human beings every day. Day by day, service dogs like Sundae are trained by various organizations, such as Mira and Togo, to help people living with functional limitations, reduced mobility or psychological challenges to overcome everyday obstacles and avoid situations so common for those living with a handicap. For these Pawsies, their dog is much more than a caregiver: he’s a best friend, a confidant, a family member in his own right. This week, we respect our distance, whisper a thank-you under our breath or offer a discreet kiss as we let these dogs get on with their amazing work of transforming the lives of those less fortunate than we are.
